Bag Strap
Add ch loops (approx 8 ch) to either side of the bag to clip onto.
Alternatively, you can use an i-cord tool with your brown (body) yarn to create a strap of your desired length. Attach the strap to either side of the bag.
Bag Flourishes
Beads or Bobbles
Attach a few 12mm pearl beads to the lower right hand corner of the front of the bag body (I used 3!).
Alternatively…
Instead of beads, you can create individual bobbles, then sew them randomly onto the body of the bag. This can be done with any color yarn.
Bobble stitch: ch 3, work into the first ch. Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two. (This is essentially completing the first half of one double crochet stitch.). Repeat until you have a total of 6 loops on your hook. Yarn over, pull through all 6 loops at once. Slip stitch and bind off.
Butterfly Applique
2.5mm crochet hook
Butterfly yarn color
In a magic circle : ch 3 into, tr, tr, ch 2, sc, ch 2, dc, ch 2, sl st (left-side complete).
Continue with: ch 2, dc, ch 2, sc, ch 2, tr, tr, ch 3, sl st (right-side complete).
BO
Tie a small piece of your white yarn through the center of the butterfly appliqué. Cut the ends of the yarn so they are long enough to look like antenna,
Repeat until you have your desired number of butterflies. I made 5, 3 for the bag flap, 2 for the body of the bag (attached next to my beads. Attach the butterflies to your bag as desired.
