Materials and Tools

6.5mm crochet hook

5.5mm hook (for nose and eyes)

Yarn Needle

Super bulk weight yarn ( I used Bernat Blanket Yarn)

Main Color: Grey (Bernat Blanket Pale Grey)

Secondary Color: White (Vintage White Bernat Blanket)

Yarn for eyes and nose: Worsted weight, black

Crochet Stitches and Abbreviations

Note: These are US crochet terms

ch – chain

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

inc – increase (2 new stitches in one)

dec – decrease (crochet two stitches together)

Pattern Notes

Head:

6.5mm crochet hook

Tapestry crochet, you will use both colors

Row 1: Grey 4sc, White 2sc in magic circle (6)
Follow the pattern, but work grey sc into grey sts, and white sc into white sts
Row 2: sc inc in each stitch (12)
Row 3: sc in next stitch, sc inc into next stitch x6 (18)
Row 4: 2 sc, sc inc into next stitch x6 (24)
Row 5: 3 sc, sc inc into next stitch x6 (30)
Row 6-8: sc in each stitch (36)
Cut off white yarn, only work grey from here. Leave a tail and crochet over it as you go to weave it in as you work
Row 9-12: sc in each stitch (30)
Row 13: 3 sc, sc dec into next stitch x6 (24)
Row 14: 2 sc, sc dec x6 (18)

Start stuffing the head
Row 15: sc in next st, sc dec into next stitch x6 (12)
Row 16: sc dec in each stitch (6)

Finish stuffing the head

Snout

6.5mm crochet hook

White yarn

Row 1: 6sc in magic circle
Row 2: x2 sc in each stitch (12)
Row 3: sc, sc inc x6 (18)
Row 4-6: sc around (18)

BO, leave a tail long enough to attach the snout to the head

Stuff

Attach the snout in the middle of the head, align the top of the snout with the last white row

Nose

Black worsted weight yarn

Option 1:

With the tapestry needle, embroider a triangle nose on the front of the snout
Option 2:

5.5mm crochet hook
Row 1: 3sc in magic circle
Row 2: sc inc, sc, sc inc (5)
BO, leave a tail long enough to sew the nose onto the snout

Ears

6.5mm crochet hook

Make 2

Tapestry crochet, you will use both colors

Row 1: Grey: sc around. (6)
Row 2: Grey: inc, sc, White inc, sc grey inc, sc (9)
Row 3: Grey  3sc, White 3sc, Grey 3sc. (9)
One extra white sitch in row 4
Row 4: Grey sc, inc, sc, White sc, inc, 2sc, Grey inc, sc (12)
Cut off white yarn, only work grey from here.
Row 5: Grey sc around. (12)

BO, leave a long tail

With the tail, sew the ears closed, then sew them to the head. The ears will sit towards the top, aligned to the middle of the side of the head.

Eyes

5.5mm crochet hook

Make 2

Double up your black worsted weight yarn

Crochet a single, 3dc bobble (note: 4 loops will be on your hook before you pull through everything), sc

BO, leave a long tail

Sew the eyes directly above the snout, about 4 sts apart.

Legs

6.5mm crochet hook

Make 2

Grey
Row 1: 6sc into magic circle
Row 2: sc, sc inc (9)
Row 3: 2sc , sc inc (12)
Row 4-8: sc in each st (12)
Leg 1: BO, leave a long tail. This will be used to sew the gap that is created between the legs in the body section
Leg 2: don’t BO, continue in the body section

Sew the arms to the body, directly under the head on either side
